Green noise generator

Play green noise in this tab, free, with no ads and no YouTube loop. RelaxEnd band-passes white noise around 500 Hz so mids carry the energy. It sounds like wind in trees, not static. This page stays on green, with Forest Canopy, Sleep, Rain, EQ, and a timer to 24 hours. Nothing is uploaded.

What green noise is

Green noise is an informal name, not a fixed ISO slope like pink or brown. Wikipedia groups it under colors of noise: some writers mean a mid band around 500 Hz, others mean any nature-like hiss. RelaxEnd is the first of those. White noise goes through a band-pass so energy sits in the mids and the rumble and hiss sit back. You hear something closer to wind in trees than to radio static. White noise is flat per hertz and hisses more. Pink noise falls about 3 dB per octave. Brown noise falls about 6 dB per octave and sits in the bass. This page synthesizes the mid band in the tab with a worklet. There is no looped file, no rain recording, and no upload. Darken it with Tone (Sleep, Soft) or the 10-band EQ from 31 Hz to 16 kHz. A sleep timer can run from 15 minutes to 24 hours. This is not a record label or a Spotify album.

Green noise for sleep

People put a mid-heavy bed on overnight because it covers room spikes without the hiss of white or the rumble of brown. There is no green-noise sleep trial. A 2022 review of sound as a sleep aid found mixed results for noise in general. This page is not a black-screen YouTube video. Use Black screen in the nav for a true-black overlay while the generator keeps playing.

  • Sleep or Soft, then 8 hours, 10 hours, or 12 hours on the timer, or Off for all night. 30 minutes and 1 hour are on the timer if you only want a short bed
  • Fade out in Customize if you want the last minute to ease down
  • Headphones work. Start quieter than speakers. Stop if your ears feel tired
  • This is live synthesis, not a 10 hour YouTube track, a Spotify playlist, or an app with ads

Green noise for focus

The mid band can sit under reading without white hiss or brown rumble. Evidence for noise and ADHD is mostly white and pink, not green. Use what lets you stay with the page. RelaxEnd does not diagnose ADHD or treat anxiety.

  • Forest Canopy or Wind in Pines for coding, studying, and long concentration blocks. Meadow if those feel too present
  • Headphones in a noisy room. Meditation bell in Customize if you want a gentle interval
  • People also search this for anxiety and ADHD. A steady band can make chatter less of a jolt. That is not treatment

Green noise frequency

Green noise is not one pitch. On this page the source is a mid band-pass around 500 Hz, with most of the shape between about 250 Hz and 1 kHz. There is no best healing frequency for sleep, and 432 Hz is a sine wave, not green noise. Shape the band with Tone and the 10-band EQ. Related chips below open sibling colors and the full lab.

How to play green noise here

  1. Press Play. Audio starts in this tab. Nothing is streamed from a file.
  2. Pick a preset. Choose Forest Canopy, Sleep, Rain, Soft, or another green chip. Each one sets Tone and EQ for this color only.
  3. Set volume. Move volume to a level you could talk over. Loud green noise can fatigue hearing the same as any other sound.
  4. Shape Tone and EQ. Optional. Drag Tone toward Warm or Soft if the mids feel too present, or open Equalizer and cut 8 kHz and 16 kHz.
  5. Set a sleep timer. Optional. Open Customize for chips from 15 minutes to 24 hours (including 30 min, 1 h, 8 h, 10 h, and 12 h), fade in or out, or a meditation bell.

FAQ

What is green noise?
Green noise is a product name for a mid-focused band, not an official color with one slope. Wikipedia lists it under colors of noise as poorly defined: sometimes a band around 500 Hz, sometimes any nature-like hiss. RelaxEnd uses the band-pass version. You hear wind in trees, synthesized in this tab. It is not a forest recording and not a record label.
What does green noise sound like?
A steady mid bed, closer to wind in trees than to hiss or rumble. Forest Canopy is the default. Wind in Pines is brighter. Sleep and Soft pull the sting out of the top. Rain leans toward rain without playing a storm file.
What does green noise do? What is it good for?
A constant mid band can make sudden sounds harder to notice, so people use it to sleep, study, or sit with a pet. It does not soundproof a room. Try Sleep at night, Forest Canopy at a desk. RelaxEnd does not treat medical conditions. There is no special healing frequency in this color.
What frequency is green noise? What is best for sleep?
It is not one tone. On this page the energy sits around 500 Hz, mostly 250 Hz to 1 kHz. Sleep is the darkest overnight chip. Cut 8 kHz and 16 kHz if the top is too bright. 432 Hz is a sine, not green noise.
Does green noise help you sleep?
Many people sleep with it because the band is less hissy than white and less rumbly than brown. There is no dedicated green-noise trial. A 2022 sleep-aid review found mixed results for sound in general. Sleep or Soft, then 8 h, 10 h, or 12 h, or leave the timer Off. Use Black screen in the nav if you want the display true black. This is not medical advice.
Is green noise bad for you? Is it safe?
Green noise is sound. High volume can fatigue hearing, same as any other audio. Keep it at a level you could talk over, including on headphones, and stop if it bothers you. Leave the timer Off for all-night play, or pick a chip so playback stops. This page is not medical advice.
How does green noise affect the brain?
A steady band can make spikes (a door, a shout) less of a jolt, which is why some people stay asleep or stay on a page. That is masking, not a proven brain treatment. This page is a generator, not a clinical study.
Does green noise help you focus or study? Is it good for ADHD?
Some people concentrate better when chatter is covered and the top is quieter than white. Published ADHD noise work is mostly white and pink, not green. Results vary. Use Forest Canopy or Wind in Pines and headphones in a noisy room. This site does not diagnose or treat ADHD.
Does green noise help with anxiety?
A predictable bed can make a room feel less jumpy for some listeners. That is not treatment for anxiety. Soft or Meadow, volume you can talk over, and stop if it makes you more tense.
Does green noise help tinnitus?
Some people use a steady band as a mask. Green sits in the mids, so it may cover mid ringing more than brown rumble. High ringing often sits closer to blue or violet. This is not treatment, and loud noise can make ringing worse. Keep volume moderate and stop if it hurts. Talk to a clinician.
What is the difference between green noise and white noise?
White noise is flat per hertz, so it hisses and covers speech well. Green here is a mid band-pass, so rumble and hiss sit back and you hear more of a forest-like bed. Neither is healthier. If white is too bright for sleep, stay on this page.
What is the difference between green noise and brown noise?
Brown noise falls about 6 dB per octave and rumbles in the bass. Green keeps the mids and cuts a lot of sub energy, so it sounds thinner and more like wind than thunder. If green feels too thin at night, try brown. If brown feels too dark at a desk, stay on green.
What is the difference between green noise and pink noise?
Pink noise is a 1/f slope across octaves, often heard as rain. Green on this page is a mid band-pass around 500 Hz, not a 3 dB per octave tilt. Rain on this page is still green with extra low-mids, not pink. Open pink if you want the real 1/f bed.
Is green noise good for dogs?
Some pets settle when household spikes are covered. Others find the bed annoying. Pets cuts the highs. Keep volume low, watch for stress (pacing, hiding, pinned ears), and do not use it in place of veterinary care.
How do I play green noise here? Is there a free app?
Press Play on this page. That is the generator, player, and app. There is no VST, no MP3 download, and no account. After the page loads, synthesis runs in the tab. Add it to your Home Screen if you want an icon. Native Android and iOS apps are coming later.
Can Alexa play green noise?
Alexa has its own skills. This lab runs in a browser tab, not as an Alexa skill or a Hatch machine. For all-night play here, leave the timer Off on a phone or laptop that stays awake.
Is this a YouTube loop, Spotify, or an app with ads?
Live synthesis, not a YouTube upload, a Spotify playlist, a 10 hour track, or a paywalled app. There are no ads in the audio. Play as long as the tab stays open, or set 8, 10, 12, or 24 hours on the timer. Black screen in the nav blacks the display while audio continues.
